In the first installment of Classic Rewind Decades, we visit the opening round of the 1987 season - the Long Beach Grand Prix.

It's time for us to pivot.

While we here at Classic Rewind HQ have enjoyed bringing you race broadcasts of classic Indy car races over the last two offseasons, it's getting harder and harder to find vintage races we haven't already posted online. Rather than search the archives for races that are new, we're starting a new concept.

We'll celebrate the seasons that have happened either 10, 20, or 30 years ago. To start it off, we've decided to post all the races from a classic season that occurred three decades ago. When there aren't current 2017 races, we'll show the 1987 season from start to finish. 

This week it's the Long Beach Grand Prix - Mario Andretti's dominant win on the streets of Long Beach on April 5, 1987.
