For this week's Classic Rewind, we stay in 2012 and move on from St. Pete to Round 2 of the championship at Barber Motorsports Park
The Wayback Machine is stuck in 2012, but it's advanced a week for this week's Classic Rewind, the 2012 Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama.
Round 2 of the 2012 season was held at the "Augusta of Motorsports" just a week after Helio Castroneves kicked off the season with a win on the streets of St. Petersburg. Castroneves continued his hot start by taking the pole for the 90-lap race despite limited practice due to weather issues.
Once the race started, though, the race was about three drivers -- Castroneves, Scott Dixon and Will Power.
Dixon led a race-high 38 laps and was leading on Lap 66 when he made his final pit stop. A slow stop caused by trouble on the left rear tire, as well as traffic in pit lane, allowed Power to get by heading into Turn 1.
Power took the lead as the cars ahead headed to pit road and held off Dixon over the final laps to win his second straight race at Barber.
