Jamie Chadwick

Two-time W Series champion Jamie Chadwick will test an Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires car next month prepared by Andretti Autosport.

Chadwick, from Great Britain, will test with Andretti on Sept. 21 at Sebring International Raceway in Florida.

The 24-year-old has dominated the all-female W Series since its inception in 2019. She won the season championship in 2019 and 2021 – the 2020 season was canceled due to the global pandemic – and is the runaway points leader this season. Chadwick has 18 podium finishes in 20 career starts in the W Series, including 11 victories.

Chadwick has won five of the six W Series races this season and leads second-place Alice Powell, 143-68, in the standings.

Before she joined the W Series, Chadwick started in karting and shifted to sports cars, winning a GT4 title in 2015 in the British GT Championship. She moved to open-wheel racing in 2017 by competing in the British Formula 3 Championship. In 2018, she became the first woman to win a British F3 race, capturing a victory at Brands Hatch.

She won the 2018-19 MRF championship in the Middle East with six victories, becoming the first female title winner in that series.

That success attracted attention from the Formula One paddock, as Chadwick became the second driver to join the Williams Driver Academy in early 2019 and was signed as a development driver for the storied F1 team. She followed that by finishing fourth in the 2019-20 Asian F3 Championship.
