Antonio Serravalle

Abel Motorsports has signed second-year Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires driver Antonio Serravalle to drive its No. 11 car at the season-opening race Sunday, Feb. 27 at St. Petersburg, Florida.

Serravalle, 19, returns to Indy Lights after a rookie campaign in 2021 in which he produced a best finish of sixth at Road America.

“I am excited and anxious to get going and want to thank everyone from Abel Motorsports in helping to make this deal happen,” Serravalle said. “Just like last year, we will be going into the start of the season with no testing, but I know Abel has the right people in the right places and I am ready to go.”

Serravalle, from Toronto, joins Abel Motorsports for the team’s debut in the Indy Lights series and will be paired alongside series rookie Jacob Abel.

“When we announced that Abel Motorsports would be making the move up to the Indy Lights series, one of our primary goals was to add a second car,” Abel Motorsports team manager John Brunner said. “We think Antonio will be a great addition to Abel Motorsports, especially after having a successful rookie season running as a one-car team. Now the real work begins, and we are ready to take the challenge head on.”
