INDYCAR's #FastSix is a report that borrows from all things found online about NTT IndyCar Series racing, its drivers and people. We find pics, quips and the occasional GIF as INDYCAR drivers live their extraordinary lives and put the evidence on Twitter, Instagram and more. Check back regularly for the latest.

Legend and a Corkscrew

While at one of the new tracks on the NTT IndyCar Series schedule in 2019, Team Penske’s Will Power felt honored that he was able to witness the legendary Corkscrew turn at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca with none other than Bryan Herta, the former Indy car driver and now co-owner of Andretti Herta Autosport who’s had his fair share of memorable experience – good and bad – there. (See “The Pass.”)

What means the most

With preseason testing underway for the 2019 NTT IndyCar Series season, travel plays a huge role, including cross-country junkets. Andretti Autosport driver and father of three Ryan Hunter-Reay is no stranger to the back-and-forth travel. Hunter-Reay shared a sweet message on Twitter about surviving a long flight delay after testing at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on Friday and arriving just in the nick of time to see his eldest son, Ryden, score a goal in a soccer game the next morning.

Smile for the camera

With INDYCAR Spring Training testing comes the annual media day for NTT IndyCar Series drivers. Let’s just say it feels a lot like picture day from elementary school.

… Plus media day shenanigans

Don’t count on media day to be a calm one. NTT IndyCar Series drivers know how to make the best of their day. Who knew that the rookie for Chip Ganassi Racing, Felix Rosenqvist, was talented outside of driving an Indy car? Check out his walking handstand.

Many drivers took their photo shoot with Firestone tires to the next level. See how a few got creative below.

Finally, we can’t go through a media day without a classic “caption this” moment. The 2019 edition is brought to you by Andretti Autosport’s Alexander Rossi and Hunter-Reay.

Rossi raises the Mercury level in INDYCAR

It all started with a mustache, a fake mustache. INDYCAR on NBC posted a candid tweet of Andretti Autosport driver Alexander Rossi posing with the phony caterpillar on his upper lip that led to a chain of tweets responding with lyrics from Queen’s hit song and title of the Oscar-nominated film, “Bohemian Rhapsody” Well played all, well played.

Helio’s back

Many fans love seeing three-time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves back in his yellow Pennzoil Indy car and firesuit, but it looks like his Team Penske teammate, Simon Pagenaud, is the most excited. Especially for the annual Penske Games video series.

Stay tuned for 2019 episodes coming soon.

Ready or not, St. Pete is coming

All right, INDYCAR fans, a true sign that the 2019 season is upon us: the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg track build has officially begun. Only 25 days until the first race of the season, but who’s counting? Well, all of us.
