In 1999, the motorsports world was introduced to a fearless 19-year-old from Ohio, Sarah Fisher. In 2002, she did something no woman had ever done before in motorsports.

As INDYCAR celebrates Women's History Month in March, it is our great pleasure to revisit some of the great moments of the sport. This week's Classic Rewind takes us to Kentucky Speedway for the 2002 Belterra Casino Indy 300.

A late afternoon qualification session. A newly-repaved track with cooling temperatures. A late qualification draw. The stars were aligning for history, and 21-year-old Sarah Fisher knew she had a good car. And she made it work, qualifying for the pole position with a track-record 221.390 MPH lap, which remains the all-time track record at the 1.5-mile Kentucky Speedway tri-oval. For this week's Classic Rewind, we go back to that historic race weekend.
