Hi to all the Classic Rewind viewers at home. You've chosen the 1997 Sunbelt IndyCarnival from Surfers Paradise, Australia, as this week's trip through the Indy car video vault.

The second race of the 1997 CART season was marred by a crash that involved nearly half the 28-car field on the start of the race. It was a sign of things to come, as there were several incidents that slowed the pace. Scott Pruett ran near the front and avoided the carnage. He was in the right place at the right time when Paul Tracy and pole sitter Alex Zanardi collided, allowing Pruett to win the race when it was called after two hours.

There's no poll for next week, but we'll still fire up the Wayback Machine to bring you another classic race from Indy car's past.

Scott Pruett, Greg Moore, and Michael Andretti
