The 1998 Honda Grand Prix of Monterey had a couple of firsts: Bryan Herta wins his first CART race for Team Rahal, and a young Brazilian rookie Tony Kanaan claims his first podium of his illustrious career.

We're honoring the five current Verizon IndyCar Series drivers who are celebrating birthdays this month with this week's Classic Rewind.

This week's race poll winner was the 1998 Honda Grand Prix of Monterey at Laguna Seca, which was Tony Kanaan's first podium. Kanaan has finished on the podium 76 times in his career, but his first came as he trailed a battle between Bryan Herta and Alex Zanardi. But unlike the famed battle between the two in 1996, Herta was able to fend off Zanardi and claim the first win of his Indy car career.

Next week, we'll head back 25 years to visit classic races from the 1992 season. Pick which race you'd like to see from the choices below.
