This week's race is the 1999 Colorado Indy 300 from Pikes Peak International Raceway, which was held Aug. 29. The eighth race of the 1999 Pep Boys Indy Racing League season was won by Greg Ray, his third win in a four-race span.
Ray started from the pole and held off Davey Hamilton for the win, which also allowed him to take the points lead. He'd hold the lead for the rest of the season and claim his only Indy car crown for John Menard.
