You probably remember "The Pass" - a daring move by Alex Zanardi around Bryan Herta in the Corkscrew of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in 1996. We've brought back the full 1996 Toyota Grand Prix of Monterrey. Avoid the urge to skip to the end and watch the full broadcast.

Another Classic Rewind and another great finish between Alex Zanardi and Bryan Herta.

The race was final round of the 1996 season and is best remembered for what’s known as “The Pass” among Indy car fans.

Herta, driving for Team Rahal and was vying for his first-ever win, led Target Chip Ganassi Racing’s Zanardi heading into the final lap. The Italian rookie, already a two-time winner in CART, then made a daring move in the famed Corkscrew, surprising Herta, who had led 40 laps.

Behind them, Scott Pruett passed Jimmy Vasser for third, but fourth was good enough for Vasser to claim the first of four-straight championships for cars owned by Chip Ganassi Racing.
