Sebastien Bourdais might take at least one slow, nostalgic lap on the Sebring International Raceway short course March 23 as he joins more than a dozen other Verizon IndyCar Series drivers in testing for the season-opening Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.

The four-time Champ Car champion joined Joao Barbosa and Christian Fittipaldi in co-droving the No. 5 Action Express Racing entry to a dominant victory March 21 in the 12 Hours of Sebring. In January, the team was runner-up in the Rolex 24 At Daytona, which it won in 2014.

The victory was the first for Chevrolet in America's oldest endurance race since 1965 with Jim Hall and Hap Sharp.

“This is a place that’s been pretty mean to me many times. I remember losing here with Peugeot when we got a puncture with just two hours to go. Winning in Prototype with a lap on the field – on pace – doesn’t happen very many times," Bourdais said.

Bourdais, who resides in St. Petersburg, Fla., will test the No. 11 Team Hydroxycut KVSH Racing Chevrolet in preparation for the 110-lap race March 29 on the 1.8-mile, 14-turn temporary St. Petersburg street circuit.

Three-time Verizon IndyCar Series champion Scott Dixon, who was seeking to join an elite group of claiming the Rolex 24 At Daytona and 12 Hours of Sebring overall victories in the same year, co-drove the Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates Prototype to a fourth-place finish. Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates won the race in 2014.

In the GT Le Mans class, Ryan Briscoe, Antonio Garcia and Jan Magnussen co-drove a Corvette Racing entry to its second victory this season.
