Three Verizon IndyCar Series drivers will compete in races on an off weekend for the series.

Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing driver Josef Newgarden, the only American to win in the Formula Ford Festival at Brands Hatch, will participate in the Sports Car Club of America Formula F 45th anniversary at Barber Motorsports Park on Aug. 10.

Newgarden will race in a Honda-powered Piper Formula F, and participate as a speaker in the Formula F birthday celebration. As a Team USA scholarship recipient in 2008, Newgarden won the Formula Ford Festival (Kent class) and spent a season racing in the British Formula Ford series.

James Hinchcliffe and Jack Hawksworth will compete in the IMSA event this weekend at Road America in Wisconsin.

Hinchcliffe will co-drive a Honda-powered Daytona Prototype for Starworks in the Prototype class alongside former INDYCAR competitor Scott Mayer, while Hawksworth will rejoin RSR’s Chris Cumming in the Prototype Challenge Class.

Hawksworth and Cumming won the class in the Brickyard Grand Prix at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in July.

Think they had fun at Mid-Ohio?

Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio grand marshals Jared Boll and James Wisniewski of the Columbus Blue Jackets were passengers for rides on the 2.258-mile, 13-turn Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in the Indy Racing Experience two-seater driven by Mario Andretti.

It was one of their experiences during the weekend in which they camped at the venue. Columbus (Ohio) will host the NHL All-Star Game in January. Check out the video below courtesy of the Blue Jackets.
